Holiday Baking with the Kids
Granda Lott made the kids aprons and sent them cookie cutter for Christmas. We also made a gingerbread house with lots of tasting going on. We took cookies to some of the kids friends, the kids tried to Christmas carol as I watched from the car, it was more like laughing or screaming "We wish you a merry Christmas!"

Di Can't Bake!
I usually don't have such a hard time baking pies, although I do burn one out of every two grill cheeses. For some reason this year I just had no luck.
I forgot 4 eggs in the pumkin pie, cornstartch in the apple pie, yes that is a half eaten apple pie despite what it really looks like!
I told Arden I just can't bake and she felt really bad for me and told me that I was a "good baker" despite the burt remenants of Grill Cheese and Pie Crust in the garbage. I can't go wrong with an instant pudding pie now can I and it really is alway a hit!

Old Town Philadelphia
We recently took a trip back east with the whole family. We stayed in Phili and Newark DE. We also made it to New Jersey and Maryland. We had a wonderful time. The fall leaves were absolutely spactacular. There are leaves bigger than my head there and the colors were so briliant. We were gone nine days total. The kids didn't want to come home, since they had no chores and really were having a wonderful time.
Greenbank Mill
We went to the Greenbank Mill, once apon a time ago a working mill where the Green bank family bought wheat and milled it with a gigantic stone mill powered by a water wheel. The Greenbank family also raised sheep, sheered them, spun there own wool and made textiles for sale.
My kids got to separate the wool and rake it into strands and them give it to the tour guide (dressed in old fashioned atire) where she would spin it into wool strands and then each of the kids got to weave. The kids fed the sheep and Arden dressed up like a 18th century girl.

Trip to Washinton D.C.
We took the Metro in and had a great time at all the Smithsonia museums. The giant squid is gone I am so disapointed. We ended the day with dinner at The Hard Rock Cafe which I will never take my sheltered six year old to ever again! Too many bad videos!
Longwoods Gardens
An absolute must if you are ever in Pennsylvania, the most magnificant conservatory I have ever been to. The Crisanthiams were in bloom and there were every kind in the world there! There was an enchanted kids garden that was so cute, the kids loved playing in the water!
Brandywine Zoo in Wilmington DE
No dought the smallest Zoo in the entire world, but my kids loved it and the surrounding Brandywine Park! It was so so beautiful in the fall.
